这个版本的xorg将和udev一起用于支持输入设备热拔插，同时支持用/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/*.conf取代以前的hal.fdi文件。
升级到这个版本后，配置输入设备所需要的hal依赖将被移除。相关文档请参见：WIKI上的文章
目前nvidia驱动的173xx和96xx系列，在新版本的xorg下暂不可用。我们推荐大家使用xf86-video-noveau驱动作为替代选择。

This release works with udev for input hotplugging and supports /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/*.conf as a replacement for the hal .fdi files. After upgrading to this release, configuration for input devices in hal is ignored. Documentation about this change can be found on:

Nvidia-173xx and -96xx drivers currently don’t support the new Xorg release. We recommend using the xf86-video-nouveau driver package for now.

10.0.45.2版本的flashplugin有个关键的缺陷，目前已经再10.1.53.64版本中修复了。不过不幸的是，Adobe只发布了32位的i686平台的10.1.53.64版本，而64位的x86_64目前尚不可用。因此，我们无法同时更新64位仓库里的flashplugin。目前我们考虑暂时将该64位软件包从仓库中移除。用户可以选择保留本地的包，或者卸载掉。
作为64为的用户，我们建议你选择其他给予flash的软件。对于火狐用户你也可以安装flashblock扩展。

The flashplugin has a critical vulnerability[1] in version 10.0.45.2 which is fixed in 10.1.53.64. Unfortunately, Adobe released this version for i686 only and the x86_64 port was discontinued[2] leaving the x86_64 package vulnerable. Because of that, we cannot build an updated version for x86_64. While we considered pulling the x86_64 package from our repositories, for now we will leave it up to our users to remove it or keep it installed.

We suggest using alternative options for running flash-based software on x86_64 systems or using the flashblock extension for firefox.

今完上toy看到龙芯搞了一个比赛。简单看了看，觉得也许是一个契机。

我已经报名申请，队伍名为Arch。希望有兴趣的兄弟们能够加入进来。

首先申明，我们不是为了比赛而去的。所以有这个想法的兄弟请直接飘过。因此我们人数不限，主要是希望利用这次契机（有可用的实测平台），扩展ArchLinux的范围，同时也算是为国人作了一点贡献吧。

今天猛然发现，Arch的首页改版了。改版之前，是白色和天蓝色混搭。就像我们ArchLinux.cn一样。改版之后，成了黑色和天蓝色混搭了。此次改版涉及到首页、Dowload、WIKI三大页面，AUR、BUGS、Forums不在此列。

所谓无图无真相，这里给大家秀一张图：

此前，在Archinux社区一直有传言，说Chakra项目将会脱离ArchLinux而独立运行。现在这个传言经过Chakra官方网站的澄清成真了。

很简单，Amnon在Jan Mette的基础上，悄悄的做了很多事情。在最近这一周内，他们已经为Chakra单独编译了超过900个软件包。并根据其用途分置于三个仓库：

• core：基本系统所需要的所有东西；
• platform：X11、驱动程序及其编译KDE所需要的依赖关系；
• desktop：KDE桌面环境以及其他一些软件（随后将迁移到独立的app仓库）；

关于大家比较关注的旧版本的KDE-legacy仓库，可以明确的告诉大家，将不会保留！

独立出来后，Chakra GNU/Linux将更名为Phoix，主要包含以下特性：

• 带有lzma支持的2.6.33-4版内核；
• aufs2：版本2010.0514；
• aufs2-utils：版本2010.0514；
• KDE：版本呢4.4.3
• Xorg-server：版本1.7.6；
• Catalyst：版本10.4
• Nvidia驱动：包含195系列和legancy系列；

支持的语言包括

• catala（这是啥语言？）
• 德语
• 英语
• 西班牙语

虽然到目前为止，并不是所有的KDE包我们都支持。但是我保证大家会得到和Chakra一样满意的体验。

来自ArchLinux的消息!新版的安装镜像已经发布了（猛烈的点击这里，看看Archer 32media的安装报告！）。我们一如既往的保持“简约就是美”的安装镜像风格。那么新的安装镜像带来了什么新特性呢，Check now！

Archiso（镜像编译系统）：

1. 所有的iso文件既可以烧录到光盘上，也可以写入其他媒介，比如USB设备（感谢isohybrid的支持）；
2. core仓库中，超过半数的包采用xz压缩方式，大幅提高了压缩比；
3. 开始同时提供了32位和64位安装镜像；
4. 单独提供isolinux启动预安装环境（Live media）；
5. 核心组件为当前core仓库中最新的。内核是2.6.33.4-1，包管理器pacman是3.3.3-5，glibc版本2.11.1-3；
6. 更新了内存测试工具的代码；
7. 支持PXE引导；
8. 提供wpa_supplicant；
9. 支持virtio；

AIF（安装工具）：

1. 可以自由选择使用UUID、标签、设备文件来标识块设备文件。所作的选择会自动应用到menu.lst文件中；
2. 将交互界面单独分离为libui-sh项目；
3. 支持virtio块设备；
4. 允许用户给mkfs等工具指定附加的安装参数。

此外，这次镜像还修复了一些尤其是AIF的缺陷。当然，官方的安装文档也随之更新了。感谢大家的支持，虽然相距上一次发布已经有很长时间了，但是我相信，所有的这些等待都是值得的。

* all iso files can now be burned onto CD’s as well as written to media like usb sticks (isohybrid)
* more than half of the packages in core are now xz compressed
* next to the single architecture images we provide dual images which can be used as 32bit or 64bit medium
* use isolinux bootloader exclusively for booting the live media
* snapshot of current core, including kernel 2.6.33.4-1, pacman-3.3.3-5 and glibc-2.11.1-3
* updated memtest
* support for PXE booting
* provide wpa_supplicant
* support virtio
AIF (installation tool):
* ability to choose uuid/label/devicefile blockdevice representation; automatically applied in menu.lst, fstab, etc
* split off UI library into separate libui-sh project
* support virtio blockdevices
* allow user to specify additional custom arguments for mkfs and the like
Additionally, quite some bugs have been fixed, mostly in AIF.
And of course, the Official installation guide has been updated to reflect these changes.
Thanks to everyone who contributed, this release took a long time but I think it’s worth it.

从现在开始，Xorg 1.8系列测试用得仓库xorg18正式取消，所有的软件包将移入testing仓库。经过这段时间大量用户的测试，我们现在放心的将他加入到testing仓库。因此，如果你以前通过xorg18仓库来测试或使用xorg 1.8系列软件包，在下次升级的时候，要注意重新配置输入设备等东西。

xorg18 repository moves to testing
The xorg18 repository has been cleared out, all packages have been moved to testing. A lot of users have been testing this xorg18 repository with success, so it’s time to move it to testing. This means all testing users who haven’t tried the xorg18 repository yet will have to reconfigure their input devices on the next upgrade.

是的，这是一条让人心情沉痛的消息。早上上班之后，看到TW上有人推出了这条消息，在Chakra上确认之后，我一直愣了很久。心里可谓是五味杂陈。

Jan Mette，昵称funkyou。德国人。KDEMode的创始人，Chakra团队的重要成员，ArchLinux社区的主要开发者。一位钟情于开源、年方三十过的年轻人，在4月23日离开了我们。尽管我想访问我们网站的朋友也许都不能赶到，但还是告诉大家，他的葬礼将在本周进行。让我们为远在大陆彼岸的他祈祷吧！

One mail hit me hard on the 24th of April:

Hello Phil,

my name is Daniela, the girlfriend from Jan and have to inform you that Jan
died this morning sleeping at home. Yesterday he was still fine and there
were no signs for that. Also the police will check whats happen to him. If
there should be an interest I’ll inform you all from Chakra about the
inhumation in his home town Luedenscheid middle/end next week.

Now we have some conclusions:

It is very heavy to realize the situation for his friends and us. Until yesterday morning
he was completely fine and he told nothing strong …

It happen 2010/04/23 morning around 5:20. Daniela, his current girlfriend woke up because Jan was convulse very strong.
At first she was thinking that he has a very bad dream and she tried to wake him up, but it didn’t work.
She realized that it isn’t a dream, he stop to convulse and she putted him in recovery position, called for the first aid.
When the first aid people came the told her, “Mhm he has only a convulsion” but in this moment he left us.

They tried to reanimate him for 3/4 hour in their flat and also a half hour in the hospital but he didn’t come back.
There was no reaction from the body anymore.

On Monday they will bring his body to the forensic medicine in Erlangen because there is no evidence to his symptoms.
Then maybe we’ll know what happen …

为减少工作压力和扩大ArchLinux开发团队，我们正考虑引进一些“初级开发人员”。新聘人员将由当前的开发人员指导下进行一些包的维护,以期最终成为一个共同的维护者，或者是这些包的主要维护者。有兴趣的人应该先准备阅读这些包的邮件列表以了解相关的bug和后续开发工作。他们应该使用Arch Linux有一定的时间了，并熟悉打包系统。

Vim/GVim的用户要注意了！

最近发布更新的 vim/gvim (7.2.411)有一些重要的改变。

* 我们将vim/gvim 移入了一个PKGBUILD，遵循splitpkg格式。
* 如果你已经安装了GVIM，那么这次更新将告诉你vim和gvim有冲突。这是之前预期的动作。vim和gvim不再需要分开安装，gvim将同vim包一同安装。
*不管是vim和gvim安装的时候都将带入一个新的依赖–vim-runtime.这个依赖在之前gvim和vim中都已经包含了。这次更新将为将来的gvim/vim的更新清扫道路。
